W8-3/3 How I Will Utilize My New Skills In The Work Place (8/15)
I plan on utilizing my
experience and participation of this internship. I think this experience on my
resume/CV will show that I can function well within a professional setting and
that I can be trusted (since I will now have a security clearance on my record
it will show to employers that I have been cleared before so I can be cleared
again) Security clearance can be an expensive process both cost and resource
wise, so many establishments want to ensure that they will not be doing a
security check at a loss (i.e. without finding a employable individual). While
a security check is necessary in a lot of cases and it’s utilized to verify the
employee can be trusted, it is still more expensive to do two backgrounds
checks to clear one prospect versus doing one background check to clear one
prospect.
I also think there is a
certain prestige and respect seen with government work within the employer
world which will help my chances of being hired. I believe this prestige is for
good reason too. In order to do government work has to be highly trustable and
professional. The work they are doing a lot of time is very, very important. Thus,
it can be transposed that this individual can be trusted with very important
tasks.
Finally, I will use my
technical internship experience. I think it is great that I got
experience/education about site security assessments, network security, cyber
security & awareness, prioritization equations/formulas, cyber incidence
response & handing, and data analytics. I think this experience has given
me a very good basis of cyber security to build off of. I think it will
jumpstart my educational journey into cyber security. I think if I spend my
time wisely this next college year, that I can make myself a very decent cyber
security prospect for several different establishments. I intend on making
myself a good prospect for both programming and cyber security jobs. I am
grateful and thankful for the experience I have had and the opportunity I was
given. I can’t wait to see where my journey in computer science brings me.
